Jean Stodden, Alexander DIE GROSSEN 2020
Germany, Ahr
RRP: £ 119.05
Description
What a Spätburgunder-Cuvee... it has the spiciness/heartiness of the Kräuterberg. Which is a new vineyard for us and 2020 would have been the first year it was bottled. It has the nose of the Rosenthal - my secret child, since the vineyard is planted with my own Spätburgunder clone, which I have grown from old vines. There is the fruity cherry notes of the Hardtberg. The Herrenberg, our Grand Senior, sets its foundation through the minerality, and it seems as if the Mönchberg, in its complexity, wraps its arms around the wine and unites all the components.
