How high exactly the water rose that night we do not know; the calculated and unimaginable level (Pegel) was 735. Even today these water masses and the destruction caused by the flood are incomprehensible. Adjacent to our winery, some of our vineyards were destroyed. Pegel 735 - our all-rounder, a cuvee from our estate wines, originates from vineyards that no longer exist. A blend of two sites, one near the Ahr river, a cooler site, which provides the typical round cherry-red fruit, the other from the lower part of Rech, which gives the mineral structure and complexity through the slate soils.
